Dr. Hugh Flax is internationally known for his leadership in Esthetic Restorative Dentistry. An Accredited member and Past President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), he has lectured and authored in Europe, Japan, Canada, and the United States on lasers, smile design, and advanced restorative techniques. Dr. Flax is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry, founded the Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and Chaired many AACD conferences. He was a 15-year member of the Catapult Education Speakers Bureau, a certified Fellow with the World Clinical Laser Institute, a Master with the ICOI, an Associate Fellow of the AAID, a Diplomate of the ABAD, a Kois Center graduate. He proudly serves as visiting faculty at the Dental School of Georgia. Dr. Flax practices full-time in Atlanta, Georgia focusing on functional-esthetic restorative dentistry and advanced laser dentistry. In 2003, he was WSB-TV.com’s expert on Cosmetic Dentistry and appeared on FOX News demonstrating the miraculous benefits of laser dentistry. DR. He and his practice have been featured in many women’s magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Allure, New Beauty, In Style, the Atlantan, and Good Housekeeping, He has also been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Dear Doctor, The Atlanta Business Chronicle, and Productive Dentist Magazine. In 2022, he became the Official Dentist of the Miss Georgia USA and Miss Teen Georgia USA. The Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry featured Dr. Flax’s work on the cover of the Spring 2007 issue and included his article, “Smile Enhancement With Laser Technology— Predictable and Esthetic: A Case Report”
Dr. Flax recently published a book entitled A Smile is Always in Style designed to educate consumers seeking dental wellness and a better smile. Proceeds from this book’s publication fund educational scholarships.
